Overseas Chefs

Sous Chef – Doha based with travel
We require an enthusiastic and experienced Sous Chef specialising in Health & Nutrition to live in (this may include travel) with a Private Family. The Sous Chef will be required to assist the Head Chef & the other chefs in providing healthy and well balanced meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and help to create delicious recipes and suggestions for various occasions daily. They must be adept at considering the clients’ dietary and allergen requirements. The Sous Chef must be experienced at working both independently and within part of a larger team, adapting easily to new people and situations.
The Sous Chef must be hands on, assisting and covering for the other chefs and other members of the kitchen staff if they need assistance including food prep, cleaning and organizing of your areas as required. The candidate must be prepared to be very flexible – the position is for a 6 day working week. When travelling, it may not be possible to take a day off, however this will be compensated by a day in lieu at another time. It is also important to point out that regular working hours will be hard to lay out, due to the nature of the job and the family’s busy schedules. You should be enthusiastic, willing and flexible in your approach.
Responsibilities of the Sous Chef:
Must have a private service background or 5*boutique hotel experience
To assist the Head Chef with skillfully cooking delicious healthy and nutritious meals for the family and their guests. This would include breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.
To lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chefs or to cover for the other chefs when they are away.
To help plan and deliver quality menus to meet the needs of the Principal and his family, including factoring in allergies, dietary requirements and personal taste.
To assist in food preparation, plating, service and overseeing other kitchen staff during service.
Oversee and maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment at all times.
Assist the Head Chef in stock maintenance and ordering duties.
To assist the Head Chef in any capacity they require including staff meals, food preparation, kitchen organization and leading the kitchen at certain mealtimes etc.
Qualities:
Experience working at Sous Chef level in a professional kitchen environment.
Proven experience working within the catering industry and decent health and nutritional experience and education.
Ability to work well and calmly under pressure and deliver to deadlines.
A good knowledge of different culinary styles.
High level knowledge of Food Safety and kitchen Health and Safety.
Ability to adapt to new people and environments, working independently and alongside other household staff members. You must be able to work as a team member and take direction.
Very flexible attitude towards working hours and days.

TRAVELLING CHEF CAPE TOWN, SOUTH OF FRANCE, HAMPSHIRE, MONACO, SARDINIA, YACHT 

Top caliber, Michelin standard chef who enjoys producing a really varied, eclectic and creative repertoire of superbly presented, healthy food for these wonderful, long term “Hutchinson’s” clients in their worldwide homes and the crew of their 40m and 65m Motor yachts.  Living in France, the client experiences the best of the best and expects that of their chef.  They have nouvelle cuisine palates and will accept nothing close to American or British standards of food presentation.  The new chef should be able to get along with the household staff and yacht crew and make instant changes when necessary. Predominantly land based, this job will be to follow the clients and their guests between the residences, with work intermittently on the yachts, which runs a crew of 7 on the smaller boat and 18 on the larger vessel.  The chef needs not be work shy, as he/she has not only to feed the guests, but also the crew and household staff.  It is a busy job, so it helps if the chef is fit and in good shape.  The employers are very reasonable and decent employers, but you must be willing to adapt your cooking to suit their very refined palates and demanding tastes.   This is a wonderful opportunity for a dynamic and creative chef.  Previous employees of these clients return to us again and again saying that these are most rewarding employers to work for.   Full staff is employed in each of the fabulous residences.  The clients love giving themed parties and entertain to the very highest levels. London Chefs

Daily Chef

Hampstead, London
Daily chef required for a family of 6 including 4 children based in Hampstead.  Our clients are looking for a full time chef who offers a flexible approach with a calm demeanor.  The family enjoy a wide variety of food and will therefore require creativity and options.  They do enjoy Italian, Asian and Mediterranean.  They require well balanced, nutritious meals that are beautifully presented.  You will be generally cooking for the family as well as the staff (Nanny and housekeepers).  Shopping is mainly done online.  6 day working week including weekend work (one day off during the week), hours are 9am-6pm.  Salary negotiable.  Russian speaker would be a bonus. LONDON SW7

Residential Chef

Professional, single Middle Eastern Businessman is looking for a classically trained chef to work primarily in his London residence with travel to South of France during the summer for up to 3 months.
Candidates will be required to cook to a very high standard and enjoy good, fresh and healthy cooking. The gentleman loves fresh home cooking from an excellent English roast to Classic French cuisine with the occasional Asian or Arabic dish. Usually the meals will be just for the principal, occasionally for guests and he eats out regularly too. You will be responsible for the kitchen, shopping and stock control, food purchases and the preparation of lunch and dinner each day. You must have high standards of kitchen hygiene and keep all equipment in tip top condition.
This is a beautiful apartment, with first class equipment and a very appreciative principal. A good team ethos is kept and it is important that you will be part of this, staff remain with this employer very long term.
Salary commensurate to experience. Lovely separate apartment provided a few minutes' walk away and 1 ½ -2 days off per week. Strictly Non Smokers and professional training is essential. (HU2863B)

Kensington

Daily Chef - Part-Time (5 days week)

Daily Chef required for VIP busy family in Kensington. Flexibility over days and hours required -5 days per week, but not always the same 5 days, owing to the clients' very busy overseas working schedules. Weekend work required, particularly Sunday. An excellent level of nutritional knowledge and the ability to cook to specification - following instructions from the principle as to how the food is to be prepared and presented. Country Chefs

HERTFORDSHIRE - Cook/General Assistant 
An experienced cook who can provide food and service to a high standard and who is used to cooking for dinner parties of up to 18 people. Must have a high standard of presentation and good knowledge of balanced menus. The successful candidate must be happy to cook for much smaller numbers on a daily basis and have a good understanding of nutrition and balanced dietary needs. When not cooking, you must be willing to help the Housekeeper with the daily cleaning of the house and preparation for house guests. You must be a self-motivated and willing person with a cheerful disposition. You will be Deputy House Manager in the House Managers’ absence, responsible for the alarms, taking telephone calls, communicating with other staff, oversee the smooth running of events when the house is booked out to private and corporate clients.
You will be provided with separate accommodation comprising a three-bedroomed cottage adjacent to the Main House. This position is NOT suitable for a cook with children. Hours will include working weekends, with two days off during the week (generally Monday and Tuesday). Depending on whether the client is in residence or not, the daily routine will include the preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch and sometimes dinner in the evening. Hours are as required, and are sometimes long, and at other times less so. The property is also used as a location for filming, private events and parties and, during these times, it is expected that all house staff will help ‘look after’ the house during the events.  All events are managed by a party planner on behalf of the clients, but the house staff have the role of preparing the house prior to an event, making sure that the house is looked after during the event, and then locking up the house once the guests have departed.
