The vacancy includes travel from early December through to April, where you will be employed in the owners’ other home in the Caribbean. There will also be additional travel to Europe, so freedom to travel is essential.

Full staff, all very long-term are employed in both households by these charming clients.

Candidates are required to be completely computer-literate, have a clean current driving license and a long-term work record in a similar role with excellent references is essential.

This is a weekend and holiday home of a professional couple whose main residence and business is in Central London. They live an informal lifestyle, arrive on Friday afternoon and leave Sunday evening. The property will be used by family members and their guests, mainly as a relaxing weekend retreat, but occasionally during major holiday times i.e. Easter, Summer and Christmas, larger numbers of family including children may visit.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the property and grounds, covering all aspects of housekeeping, cleaning, washing and ironing, food shopping, household provisioning, gardening, household maintenance and overseeing contractors etc.

When in residence the housekeeper will prepare lunch and dinner for the principals and any guests, good fresh healthy home cooking, lots of fish, vegetables, variety of salads mainly based on Mediterranean style dishes including vegetarian options. Although the principals like to entertain family and friends, all entertaining is informal and no more than 8-10 people. For any formal entertaining outside caterers will be available.

Partner will be responsible for the day to day management of this small estate, which will include the gardens and greenhouse, vegetable garden, lawns, flower beds, pond and small area of woodland. Other duties will include general property maintenance, hence good DIY skills are required. There is an outdoor swimming pool and tennis court to care for, cars to fuel and clean and occasional driving to the local station and airport occasionally. A major refurbishment programme is planned and the couple will be required to oversee contractors, manage the works and oversee security. Good communication skills are essential. Both of the couple should drive, a car is provided for work related use.

The family of five includes 3 small children between ages 6 and 2yrs and they have a dog. They usually arrive on Friday and return to London on Sunday evening during school term-time, but during holidays will spend more time there and will also entertain family and friends. Other duties will include menu planning and fresh modern Ottolenghi style cooking for small gatherings (up to ten people). Breakfast, lunch, and dinners will be expected on a daily basis: generally cooking for between 2 and 4 adults and 2-6 children, but with occasional lunch or supper parties and especially Sunday lunches. The employers enjoy fresh and healthy cuisine with variety and of different tastes and styles. You need to have a natural flair and love for cooking, enjoy trying new recipes and a genuine passion for cooking, but you do not need to be a qualified chef.

The garden has a lovely vegetable patch so if you enjoy gardening then a big plus. You will need to provision and use local suppliers, there is a superb butcher and fishmonger locally and farm produce available for fresh ingredients.

This is an informal home and the family are neat and tidy people and very hands-on, so although the housekeeping role is part of the duties, when the family is in residence, cooking takes priority. The usual day to day housekeeping – cleaning, laundry, and shopping etc. all managed easily for a well-organized person.

Large private Estate with 2 separate properties ( 2 separate owners) requires an energetic, pro active couple to manage the 2 properties. You must be completely hands on but also capable of the staff management and organisation of the properties.

Full time, long term housekeeping staff are in post and additional staff are available during the season. The season starts around Easter and ends towards the end of September, with the peak season of July and August absolutely full on with family and guests in residence. November to April is very quiet which is when any refurbishment, projects or maintenance is undertaken.

We seek an applicant who has polish and style, who is able to run this property (closed up for much of the year) in a totally hands on manner, working alongside the cleaner, assisting with housekeeping and laundry and who can also assist the butler with front of house and service duties and act as a Personal Assistant when the family are in residence during July and August.  She/he needs to also be a PA, but still willing to roll up her/his sleeves.  A Chef is employed, and seasonal staff will also be employed to assist, together with a full-time Head Gardener/Estate Manager.   Start as soon as possible.  The current, long service travelling household manager will be there for the first two weeks with the new candidate.   Candidate can be single or married, (without children.)  Partner to follow own occupation.   Dogs would not be welcome, however, cats would.  TOP salary and lots of time off, however you would be expected to work on a 7 day a week basis when the clients are in residence.  One of the gorgeous 4 cottages available for accommodation.  Excellent references are required.
