Experienced housekeeper required for large Country house in Rural Ireland. The Main House consists seven bedrooms, several entertaining rooms and recreational facilities spread throughout four floors. Like many large family homes, it can be a very busy place especially during the summer months as well as during the winter holiday season. The Principal has three adult children, and nine grandchildren aged between 4-12 years of age. Therefore a child and dog friendly housekeeper is essential.
The household is fully staffed with a team of 8 staff comprising of : Butler, 2 Private Chefs, two Housekeepers (one live-in and one live-out), a Laundry technician and two Maintenance personnel. The Housekeeping Team reports directly to the House Butler.
The housekeepers are expected to perform their duties to the highest standard with great attention to detail. Housekeepers are also expected to adhere to the health and safety standards and regulations.
The general cleanliness of the Main House falls under the responsibility of the housekeepers. The Family Room is the place where the Family spends most of their time as well as taking their meals and hosting smaller dinner parties and other social meetings. Therefore the morning routine first focuses on cleaning and servicing the Family Room from the night before. The daily housekeeper starts at 0900 hrs. After the Family and Guests vacate their bedrooms, those rooms are serviced.
Hours of work:
The live-in housekeeper is required to work from 0700 hrs to 1500 hrs with 2 breaks during the day. The food, when on duty is provided by the House Chefs and consumed in the Staff dining room.
The live-in housekeeper is expected to work from Monday till the Wednesday of the following week and then to take 4 days off (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and return to work the Monday after for another 10 days shift.
The live-in housekeeper is expected to work over the Christmas holiday unless if Christmas falls to those above mentioned days off.

This is a superb, new position for a fluent English and French speaking horticulturist with ability to maintain, to a very high standard, 1 acre of gardens. The position will require someone very knowledgeable in plant material, trees and shrubs and somebody who is able to work closely with the owner, who is herself extremely knowledgeable, loves her gardens and has special ideas and projects in mind for this newly acquired property. Renovation work will commence on the house in April and is expected to be ongoing for 18 months.
It would be especially helpful if the successful applicant was knowledgeable in the Dutch/German landscape tradition of Piet Ouldolf, though not essential.
Candidates should be superb plantsmen, experienced in all aspects of the gardening year and able to communicate well. Our clients are private (not visibly social). During the summer months, they use their E. Hampton residence to relax and enjoy their two grandchildren who visit for two weeks in the summer. During this time, the principals commute between their Park Avenue apartment during the week and their E. Hampton retreat at the weekends. The summertime is busy when the principals are in-residence. Six days a week coverage will be expected. During the winter months, our clients travel south to their home in Florida. At that time, you can re-coop any overtime.
