An exciting new position has arisen for international clients who have worldwide residences in Europe and North America.  Of paramount importance is your cooking training, experience, and ability to work “natural” food and holistic mindset around menu planning. 

Normally cooking is for the family, but there will be occasions when small functions and parties will take place.  We seek a skilled chef with a wide knowledge of special diets, vegetarian, and vegan cuisines.  Somebody who is dedicated and dynamic in the role, with a creative mind and the ability to really stretch themselves to cater for this highly discerning couple.  Flexibility is key as the clients are both extremely busy businesspeople and eating times can vary on a day-to-day basis. 

Responsibilities include preparing meals for events that are hosted in the Family’s homes, such as small dinner parties or special events, locating specialty items, such as organic or gluten-free products, and maintaining detailed records of the Family’s food allergies and dietary restrictions. Sourcing local and seasonal products, working in symbiosis with the gardeners on organizing the vegetable garden, collecting fresh eggs from the chicken coop, organizing suppliers list, working together with the household team in the smooth running of the house.

Ultimately, a top-notch Personal Chef should be able to handle criticism from the Family as well as demonstrate exceptional communication, time management, and dedicated service skills at all times.

Responsibilities will include

  • Weekly meeting with the owner and/or manager to determine their meal plans, preferences, specifications, food allergies, and dietary restrictions.
  • Preparing customized holistic meal plans based on their preferences, specifications, and dietary needs.
  • Shopping for meal ingredients as well as necessary kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Inspecting meal ingredients before making purchases to ensure that they are of the highest quality.
  • Preparing meals in the Family’s kitchens in accordance with food health and safety regulations.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing work areas before and after meal preparation. Taking care of all the Kitchen cleaning including washing up, pots and pans, etc.
  • Appropriately storing ingredients and food, packaging and labeling prepared meals that are to be consumed at a later date.
  • Working together with the household team(s) in the smooth running of the house(s)

Requirements:

  • Proven culinary experience.

The residence is used by the family of 5 (including 3 children 18,16 and 13yrs and pet dog) during school holidays. The family live in London and have a summer home in Southwest France and a chalet for the Winter Season in the Swiss Mountains. You will be asked to travel to France occasionally throughout the year and spend Christmas & New Year at the Chalet.

When the family are not in residence you will be required to keep the property in tip top order but working hours can be less. However, when the property is occupied longer hours and days will be required with time back taken.

The role requires a self-sufficient and pro-active housekeeper with an eye for detail. Duties will include daily cleaning, washing and ironing to a high standard. You will need to be familiar with high end fabrics and special finishes, working to a high standard, with attention to detail and keeping an immaculate home. Additional housekeeping assistance is available when the family are in residence.

You will also be responsible for household provisioning, errands and local shopping, planning menus with the principal and cooking for the family when in residence. Fresh healthy family level cooking, a chef will be brought in for any entertaining. Experience in table laying and service, arranging flowers a big plus.

Partner will have good DIY skills and be a good team player, willing to work closely with the housekeeper and garden team. You will be responsible for the cleanliness and general maintenance of the family cars keeping accurate records of servicing. Occasionally you will need to drive the family to activities and undertake airport runs.

Beautiful family estate of approx. 40 acres, in a suburban setting close to the sea and with easy access to Amsterdam. This property is the family estate, of owners, with multiple homes and who currently only visit the property alternate weekends. They are an informal couple and like their privacy when visiting the property. The principal’s adult children and their families occasionally visit using the guest cottage some weekends and holidays. The property is newly refurbished and has full security systems and cameras in place.

The housekeeper will take care of the interior of the main house and a small guest house, cleaning, dealing with laundry and generally overseeing the day-to-day housekeeping duties. You will need to have previous experience of antiques, fine fabrics, and precious items. When the owners are in residence, some light cooking will be required ideally Mediterranean and Asian in style. You will need to be able to run errands, shop for fresh produce and work alongside the lady of the house to ensure that any guests are well catered for.

Partner will spend approx. 70% in the gardens and 30% in the house, assisting with care of the gardens alongside the full-time head gardener and part time assistant. You do not need to be a qualified gardener, but you must enjoy working outside in all weathers. There are formal and informal areas of woodland and gardens comprising of flower beds, lawns, topiary and rose gardens and vegetables are also grown on the estate. In house you will assist the housekeeper with any high-level cleaning, undertake any basic repairs and monitor the coming and going of any contractors.

There are numerous external contractors who take care of the swimming pool and tennis court, so you will need to have good communication skills and be able to liaise with them.

Security is extremely important, there are full security cameras, and you will need to be very security aware.

* Packing and unpacking for travelling, as requested.

This is a very busy, relaxed, and friendly household, but with high standards. This position is suitable for a flexible and dedicated person who is well organised and proactive, it may be necessary on occasion for you to travel to other homes ahead of the family both in Europe. New position for a young professional couple who require an experienced housekeeper to care for the family villa approximately 10 mins drive from Zurich City.

The housekeeper will have sole responsibility for the day-to-day housekeeping of this family home which will include all household cleaning, making beds, changing linens, laundry and co-ordinating and scheduling servicing contractors and suppliers.

You will be required to provision and keep the residence well stocked with supplies, run errands, and ensure that linens, writing supplies, bathroom items etc are all replenished.  You should have experience with delicates and fine fabrics and ideally wardrobe management skills with couture clothing experience.

Fresh healthy cooking is required and ideally previous experience of table service.

A gardener is also employed, any assistance in the gardens would be welcomed as time allows.

You should be pet friendly and willing to assist with feeding the chickens, in the future the family may acquire a dog.

The principals are looking for a long-term housekeeper with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a private residence. The working week is Monday to Friday, 42 hrs per week, but with flexibility for occasional extra duties if there are guests. Overtime hours will be paid.

Occasionally you may be asked to travel to additional properties in Switzerland and Europe.
