Main responsibilities:

  • Craft and executive nutritionally focused menus tailored to the preferences of the principal and his guests.

  • Take on occasional household duties, such as running the very occasional errand for the principal.

We seek candidates with proven experience working within an UHNW private household. Candidates must be adaptable to working effectively and collaboratively on a rota schedule. Essential requirements: Previous private house or yacht experience, fluent in English, knowledge of diabetic menus and ingredients, STCW and onboard food hygiene certificate.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced chef to work in rotation with the head chef onboard a magnificent 40+m motor yacht based and cruising in the Mediterranean.

The Principals like all types of cuisines and are willing to try various foods within their dietary requirements. Organisation and excellent preparation skills are extremely important as each transition period should be seamless. Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for healthy cuisine and proficiency in preparing meals following a diabetic diet is essential.

You should possess a positive and easy-going attitude and the ability to work well within a close-knit team.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Sourcing of all ingredients for meals, often without using an all-round supplier.
  • Preparation of menu plans to be discussed and approved by the principal or the permanent chef.
  • Daily preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner for 2-8 guests.
  • Daily preparation of lunch and dinner for 9 crew.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the galley and food storage areas on a daily basis. You will also ensure that at the end of each rotational period that everything is organised, labelled and dated for the incoming chef.
  • Accounting on spreadsheets which will be provided to the Captain at the end of every working period.

You will work during the months of May, July and September 2024 and will be off in the summer months - June and August 2024. There is a possibility to change the rotation length in the future and / or to make it a permanent rotation chef position. Start Date 1st May 2024. Negotiable salary depending on experience, plus travel and expenses to and from the yacht for each rotational period. MLC yacht contract and insurance provided. (HU4145)
