European businessman living in London requires an energetic organized household manager to manage the London Flat and is capable of formal front of house duties. For this Flat, located in the center of Chelsea, you will be able to take on the total running of the residence. You will work mostly alone except for a housekeeper who comes a few hours per day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. There will be some travel involved although the main aspect of the job is the daily running of the London residence in all its aspects. You will undertake local shopping for the household, occasional driving for the general day to day running of the home(s) is essential. You must be well organized, self-sufficient and duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensuring food, groceries, and medication levels in the house are maintained, as per a detailed schedule/ Inventory supplies.
  • Running personal errands and shopping, as requested.
  • Ordering household items, as required
  • Coordinating with external suppliers such as dry cleaning/ ironing service, butcher, and drinks.
  • Ensuring all aspects of the house are in order; arranging contractors to undertake household maintenance as necessary. (Contractors already in place, a list of trusted contractors/ contacts will be provided)
  • Coordinating travel arrangements together with concierge service and preparation for travel to other international properties.
  • Effectively managing household accounts. Credit card / Petty cash.
  • Cooking (Breakfast + preparing healthy dishes for dinner)
  • Ensuring the house is always in top condition for an unexpected arrival when traveling
  • Further developing process manuals (has been started by former house manager so you will start with well-documented processes and instruction manuals)

This is a fast-moving household with high standards and you will be required to ensure the Principal has all equipment they require at all times, and that it is ready for use. Ensure all Guests visiting have all of their requirements met. This includes informal and formal Front of House duties, and fulfilling any ad hoc requests from the boss.  (HU3666)  ON HOLD

Our Client, who has a large high-end residence near Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire, is seeking a Daily flexible, experienced Housekeeper who is capable of light cooking duties.  This is a new position and includes weekend working over a 5-day working week. Daily working hours will vary, approx. 8 hrs per day, usually 11-8pm if the family are in residence and 8-5pm if not. Therefore, essential that you can be flexible in regards daily hours.

This is a large country house within its own estate and within easy access to London.  You may occasionally be asked to travel to the London residence to assist the Housekeeper of 20 years.

Candidate must be willing to undertake all housekeeping duties including hands on cleaning and housekeeping on a daily basis.

Required:

  •      A good team spirit and you must be willing to be flexible with your duties
  •      Background in private households/yachts to understand the need for discretion and flexibility
  •      Looking for a long-term position
  •      Someone who will maintain the general tidiness of the home, with great attention to detail.

Large country estate in rural Hampshire, set in parkland, woodland and arable land with 11 acres of mature gardens and 1.5 acre walled garden.
This is the permanent residence of a family of 5, ( in normal times 2 eldest adult children come and go) and one teenager who is at boarding school and 2 dogs.
The housekeeper will be required to work closely with the lady of the house, you should be able to take initiative, be well motivated but at the same time open to suggestions. A traditional role for a housekeeper with an eye for detail is essential. You will need previous experience in the care of silver and antiques, working alongside a cleaner, but at the same time be very hands on with laundry, washing and ironing, caring for fine fabrics, happy to handwash fine china and glass, know how to lay a table for a formal dinner party, arrange flowers and be capable to deal with tradespeople and suppliers, ordering provisions and taking responsibility for the running of the household especially when the principals are away.
Ideally you will be confident in the kitchen, mainly to prepare light lunches or snacks occasionally, but willing to freeze vegetables and fruits from the garden, assist with jam making and generally assist madam with batch food preparation, but not every day cooking.
Partner will work alongside the outdoor gardening team, assisting with grounds maintenance, woodland maintenance, and general DIY tasks. Ideally you will be able to use a chain saw, chopping wood for the fires, and dealing with heavier indoor duties as needed. Laying fires, cleaning windows, driving airport and school runs, caring for the cars, assisting indoors during shooting weekends and generally a helping hand. So essential that you enjoy wearing many different hats and working as part of a team.
There are 2 black Labradors who between you will need feeding and walking each day too.
In normal times the family travel frequently and during their absence you will need to take care of the property and security, so essential that you have good levels of communications and during these times be self-sufficient and self-directing.
SALARY BETWEEN £50-60,000 Gross per annum depending on experience. Private One bedroom flat is currently available in the main house, with an option for larger 2 bed accommodation Spring-2021.

You will need to have previous experience in taking care of the interior of a private household. This property is a combination of both formal and informal service, with great attention to detail to high standards at all times.

As head housekeeper you will report to the principle and House manager and will be responsible for a small team of other housekeepers including a dedicated laundress. This is hands on role, which means you will involve yourself in all aspects of the daily housekeeping tasks needed to keep the house to an immaculate standard.

The Estate is fully staffed, you must have a flexible and positive attitude and enjoy working as part of a team. The residence is occupied half of the year mainly Spring through the summer, the main house has 9 bedrooms and there are 3 guest cottages.

 Duties will include:

  • Housekeeping
  • Overall Management of the housekeeping team
  • Taking care of antiques, brass, silver, and fine fabrics.
  • Assisting Butler with front of house service.
  • Turn down service
  • Family cooking when principals are in residence

(Chef available for formal gatherings or parties)

  • Walking the dogs
  • Assisting the house manager with daily running of the household.

The working week is 5 days out of 7 on a rota, weekend working will be required especially when the principals are in residence. An average of 8 hours per day with any additional hours take in lieu.

Large country house in a glorious setting, part residence property of a young couple with 3 small children, nannies are employed.

An experienced, traditional, country house, housekeeper is required who can take ownership of the day to day running of this property. Part time cleaning support is increased during the principals “in residence” periods and there are grounds and maintenance staff employed too.

You will need a keen eye for detail, be comfortable working alone, have excellent housekeeping and laundry skills and be able to maintain the wardrobes.  You will be required to cook for the principals when in residence, good fresh healthy family dishes using garden produce. Ideally you will also be capable to make jams, chutneys, bake cakes and utilise the fresh eggs from the chickens, which you will need to care for.

The property is modern with high tech support systems, there are 4 acres of grounds and gardens.

During the periods in residence ( 3-4 times per year for 3-5 weeks each visit) the working days are longer and demanding, but time back can be taken and the role becomes more of a caretaking role when the principals are not in residence. Therefore flexibility, ability to cope under pressure and stamina is essential to this role.
