The village of Eygalières is a small French village, located in the south east of France, in the French Les Alpilles region of Provence. 

This is a superb, new position for a fluent English and French speaking horticulturist with ability to maintain, to a very high standard, 1 acre of gardens. The position will require someone very knowledgeable in plant material, trees and shrubs and somebody who is able to work closely with the owner, who is herself extremely knowledgeable, loves her gardens and has special ideas and projects in mind for this newly acquired property.  Renovation work will commence on the house in April and is expected to be ongoing for 18 months.

It would be especially helpful if the successful applicant was knowledgeable in the Dutch/German landscape tradition of Piet Ouldolf, though not essential.

Candidates should be superb plantsmen, experienced in all aspects of the gardening year and able to communicate well.  Must be able to coordinate and develop any further areas of the property as required, working alongside the employer, landscaper and outside contractors. A team player is required, with the ability to muck in and somebody who is willing to help this charming owner with running odd errands and to assist when and where needed.  A “Can Do” attitude is essential. Duties will include sole care of the gardens and the exterior of the residence.  You will be required also to maintain the annual garden manual, keeping photographic updates as well as a written record. 

Candidates must be able to grow and maintain a large variety of high-quality plants, maintain electrics/garden lighting and automatic watering, manage the weekly garden maintenance team, deal with outside contractors and visitors to the estate and care for the swimming pool. HEAD GARDENER/ESTATE MANAGER - TORONTO CANADA mid-town Toronto estate is seeking a full-time, year-round salaried Estate Gardener.  YOU MUST BE LEGAL TO WORK IN CANADA OR SPEAK FLUENT FRENCH (which allows client to Sponsor application.)

The garden is internationally acclaimed and is maintained at the highest standards.

The candidate for this position will manage extensive perennial beds, a large lawn, vegetable gardens, and a naturalized ravine.  He/she will oversee a full time seasonal Junior Gardener, and will manage numerous professionals, such as arborists, horticulturists, irrigation teams and lawn specialists who also service the garden.

The successful candidate will manage all inventories relevant to the garden, help to upkeep an extensive manual, keep to a clearly defined monthly schedule and manage all administration and expenditures relating to maintaining the garden.

The Head Gardener also ensures that the grounds including patios, decks and pool are always kept well-tended .

Extensive horticultural experience is required as is a minimum of 10 years working experience in a similar position.  An in-depth knowledge of plant materials, plant and tree diseases, pruning strategies, soil conditions and watering needs will be required to succeed in this role.   A strong work ethic and an understanding that gardening hours are erratic and seasonal, are also essential.

Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained a Master Gardner certificate.

Applicants should have a strong work ethic, strong English communication skills and the ability to anticipate needs and manage time effectively. 

 

In addition, the applicant must maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times, exercising diplomacy, discretion and respecting appropriate boundaries.  They must also have a professional personal presentation.

A Hampshire Estate requires an experienced domestic couple to work in association with the family within this large, historic country home, set in formal and informal gardens which extend to approximately 4 acres. The position includes all aspects of housekeeping, laundry, and care of this gorgeous 6-bedroom home.  Applicants must have a fine eye for detail and knowledge in the care of fine furnishing fabrics and delicate clothing.  There is another housekeeper who has worked for this family for the past 15 years.

The individual must have a keen eye for detail to care for a beautiful interior, which will include thorough basic household duties and laundry. The ability to undertake some front of house and food and beverage service would be a huge plus.  Chef employed.  A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to embrace and adapt to a variety of tasks is required as well as a self-motivating and positive outlook.

Partner will be required to work alongside the Estate Manager and gardener, assisting with general garden maintenance and indoor and outdoor maintenance. Good DIY skills and use of chain saw, ride on mower are required. You may occasionally be asked to assist with some heavy high-level cleaning and assist the housekeepers with any heavy lifting. You will care for the cars, washing and polishing, ensuring they are fuelled etc. There will be some driving for the principals which will include station pickups, airport runs and shopping.

Active, flexible, country loving couple required for large family home- a six-bedroom, six-bathroom property which is kept to immaculate standards.
The housekeeper will be required to run and manage this beautiful home on a day to day basis, which includes all hands on general household cleaning to a high standard, this will include the polishing and care of antique furniture, polishing silver and family laundry, shopping and fresh family cooking.
You will need to be organised, efficient and enjoy country life.
Partner will be required to care for 6 acres of grounds which includes pasture, lawns, and a small copse. There are 2 herbaceous borders, roses, hedges to trim and pruning. A horticulturist is not required, but a good maintenance/ hobby gardener who loves to maintain and keep the gardens neat and tidy. You will need to be able to drive a tractor and use machinery to top the paddocks etc. In addition, you should have good DIY, care for the outdoor swimming pool and deal with fence repairs. You will also care for the cars and be willing occasionally to undertake airport runs and station pickups.
A good sense of humour and a genuine love of dogs is essential. The family have a young Labrador who is exercised at both ends of the working day, one-hour morning and evening, this task can be shared between the couple.
Salary Negotiable depending on experience. Lovely 2 bedroom furnished cottage, no dependent children, or cats, but a well-behaved dog may be considered.
2 days off each week usually Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The house is busier at weekends than during the week as 2 grandchildren visit regularly.

It is essential that you are confident caring for plants and are knowledgeable in all areas of gardening and using various techniques.

You will be responsible for caring for the plants in the gardens, house, and conservatory to ensure all are healthy and to check that all mechanical equipment is in working order.  You will also be responsible for caring for the lawns; mowing,  weeding, clearing fallen leaves, emptying the bins, maintaining all outside areas such as the driveway and patios and ensuring that the walkways are kept clean and free of obstructions.  

It is essential that you have an eye for detail and that you can solve any issues calmly and efficiently.
