To manage and run 2 properties in Qatar (one currently in full time use and the other being built) including reporting maintenance issues, overseeing the resident household staff, outside cleaning staff, general housekeeping, laundry and butler staff and heads of department.

The Palace Manager holds responsibility of ensuring all hospitality related services are delivered in an elevated, professional and fitting manner to the Principals and their guests.

The Palace Manager shall have the:

  • Ability to develop and maintain a strong and dedicated team environment, placing emphasis on delivering prompt, courteous and impeccable levels of service.
  • You will be involved in the hands-on day to day running of the current residence and will be involved in overseeing the new residence.
  • Once the new property is completed you will be required to oversee and manage the new Palace.
  • A requirement to pay particular attention to and having an eye for detail and setting an example to the staff and encouraging them to deliver the highest standard of service and presentation at all times.
  • You will need to be someone who can communicate well with people from all cultures, as you will need to make sure that everything is prepared and presented superbly.
  • There are times when this job can be very busy and very demanding – so working well under pressure is essential.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to organise a team of people to work with you, as well as for you.
  • You will have complete responsibility for managing all properties and service employees.
  • The successful applicant needs a “Can Do” attitude and be somebody who is not ‘thrown’ by anything.
  • There is a team of staff to manage at present, although with further recruitment taking place, staff will be increased, and you will manage the recruitment, training, etc.

COUNTY DUBLIN - SOUTHERN IRELAND HOUSEHOLD MANAGER- RESIDENTIAL POST FOR, ENERGETIC, PROACTIVE HOUSEHOLD MANAGER capable of INFORMAL BUTLER/FRONT OF HOUSE duties.  Long Term Hutchinson’s client is looking for a top-notch household manager, able to undertake informal table and beverage service and who has excellent front of house skills.  This is for a family with 3 grown up children. The residence is approx.40 mins from Central Dublin in a beautiful location and there are other homes in South of France and the 2 homes in the USA, (New York and L.A.) so essential that you have freedom to travel occasionally.

You will need to be able to take on the total running of the main residence, (with occasional travel to the overseas homes.)  The main residence is however the priority and you will be managing all aspects of the household staff, dealing with rotas, inventory and stock control, undertaking household accounts and ensuring that the  travelling Head Housekeeper is well prepared to go ahead of the family, to ensure that each home is prepared in readiness for their arrival.  Each property is staffed; however, you will need to have a broad knowledge in all aspects of running HNW homes and undertake a range of personal assistant duties.

Responsible for household and project management in multiple locations across continents

  • Recruiting, training and supervision of the household employees, creating operation manuals
  • Research and negotiation with vendors, contractors, maintenance providers.
  • Creating data base systems for each property and extensive, detailed photographic inventories.
  • Diary, travel management and event planning.
  • Sourcing and setting up of residences for high end rentals.

You will undertake local shopping for the households, occasional driving for the general day to day running of the home(s) is essential.  

Specific Responsibilities:  you must be well organised, self-sufficient and duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensuring the overall smooth running of a busy household on a daily basis, with responsibility for the training and supervision of domestic staff, including full-time Head Housekeeper, Housekeeper, Daily Cleaner and a part time Laundress.
  • Ensuring food, groceries and medication levels in house are maintained, as per a detailed schedule/ Inventory supplies.
  • Running personal errands and shopping for the family, as requested.
  • Ordering household items, as required
  • Overseeing weekly flower orders.
  • Coordinating with external suppliers such as dry cleaning/ Linen ironing service, butcher and drinks.
  • Ensuring all aspects of the house are in order; arranging contractors to undertake household maintenance as necessary.
  • Coordinating travel arrangements and preparation for travel to other international properties.
  • Compilation of records, maintenance and updating of household manual and Inventories. 
  • Effectively managing household accounts. Credit card / Petty cash.

 This is a relaxed household, but with very high standards and you will be required to ensure the Owner and family have any equipment they require at all times, and that it is ready for use. Ensure all Guests visiting have all of their requirements met. This includes informal Front of House duties, training of junior staff and fulfilling any ad hoc requests from the Owner, Family and Guests or Estate Manager.

SALARY NEGOTIABLE-circa £60-65,000 gross, depending on previous experience. Separate 2-bedroom apartment provided, sorry no pets, though partner following own occupation is welcome. A newly created position for this charming, young Qatari lady employer who has 5 children under the age of 10 years.  We seek an immaculately presented, highly experienced House Manager to oversee an extensive team of staff, with further new employees probably being taken on for the new residence.  Ideally, not only will you have excellent high-profile experience within a formal private residence, you ideally may have experience previously from a 5* luxury Hotel background. 

It is important that you have an exceptional eye for detail and knowledge in the care all aspects of running a major property, which has a staff in the region of 250 people from all over the globe.

Somebody with a real knowledge of the concept of true luxury and who will ensure that the residence is always run to the highest standard, reporting to the General Manager. 

An adaptable, quick thinking person is required and somebody who will appreciate this clients’ gorgeous home and want to love and enhance it, noticing things that require repair and arranging it without troubling the principal and dealing with snagging issues within the newly build palace.  You will ideally have had experience in running and arranging large events and business meetings and perhaps have come from a 5* luxury hotel background originally.  You will be responsible for sourcing items for the Principal, arranging staff manuals, helping at events, purchasing any personal items for the Principal and generally being highly discreet, flexible, and adaptable.
