HOUSEKEEPER – GROUNDS & MAINTENANCE PERSON-SECURITY

Proactive, country loving domestic couple is required for a recently refurbished, 500-acre country estate in Kent. The 7-bedroom, grade 11 listed property is the permanent home of a down to earth couple and their very friendly dog and 2 cats.
The Housekeeper will primarily be responsible for the day to day cleaning and deep cleans of the 7-bedroom, 6-bathroom home, laundry, preparing the home for guests, running errands and pet care. Ideally the housekeeper will be able to prepare ingredients, cook occasionally and eventually serve at informal dinner parties.
Partner will be responsible for the day to day grounds maintenance of the property, which will include gardening, mowing, hedge trimming, greenhouse, and vegetable garden. Other duties will include general property maintenance, overseeing contractors, swimming pool, spa and hot tub maintenance, car cleaning and care of the vehicles, ad hoc driving duties and generally assisting the housekeeper and two additional estate workers when required. You will also be responsible for the security of the estate.
This is a long-term role, suitable for a very hand on, self-motivated couple who are used to working together in domestic service – you must be confident in your ability to provide high standards of work without supervision.
Accommodation and Salary
A beautiful, large 3-bedroom Oast house within the Estate, next to the main house. This can either be furnished or unfurnished. All bills included. Monday to Friday 8-4pm with weekends off, some flexibility will be required for driving duties. Salary circa £48,000 Gross per annum.

An exciting position for a private family based in Somerset to manage the maintenance and upkeep of a modern 6-bedroom home (main residence) and office complex. This is a multi-faceted role that will require an all-rounder who can manage the property as well as the health / wellness facilities, manage the vehicle fleet, maintain and manage the upkeep of a smaller domestic property, equestrian facilities, an office and storage all based at the same site.
In addition to the main residence, you will be required to manage a small office complex including a warehouse and cottage that is leased. The office has a small team of staff and is located approximately 4 miles from the main residence. Duties will include the hands-on maintenance and contracts to ensure correct level of operations, weekly and monthly checks of the buildings and land, management of the cleaners, direct mail as required, weekly fire drills to meet compliance, etc.
The split would be 1-2 days at the offices and 3-4 days at the private residence.
You will be required to manage the maintenance contracts to ensure best cover for the family with minimal intrusion. You will also be responsible for managing contractors when onsite.
It is essential that you are hands-on with a strong technical background. You should have the ability to diagnose and remedy minor faults.
Additional duties will include
There is a small team of staff in place including a PA, housekeeper, handyman, labourer and gardener, so essential that you work well in a team environment. This is very much a hands-on role that requires you to have the ability to prioritise and multi-task. You should have experience working in a smart home and have a good understanding of electrics, heating, swimming pools, saunas, etc.

The candidate is expected to be a forward thinker with a proactive attitude, be organised and work to a very high standard. The principals have multiple properties and often travel, so flexibility is key for when they are in residence.
The House Manager is expected to support and report directly to the Family Office and manage the local staff daily, ensuring the running of the property operation and ensuring the delivery of the highest level of service to the principals. You will be expected to be very hands on and lead by example if appropriate to the situation.
