There are 3 very small ponies, who are cared for by a part time groom in the mornings, but you will need to be able to learn to prepare hay nets at lunch time, feed and medicate, collect droppings and stable the ponies in the evening, so previous equine experience or a willingness to learn and a genuine love of animals essential. The family seek a proactive, creative and forward-thinking couple who are used to working together as a couple. The position comes highly recommended by current and previous couples.
Duties will include all general housekeeping duties, daily cleaning, washing, ironing, household errands, and potentially dog walking twice daily in all weathers. There is no cooking with this position, no assistance is required for entertaining and driving is limited to running errands and occasional airport runs. There is a pool and spa complex to be kept clean and maintained and specialist pool contractors to liaise with.
An experienced handyperson is required with a really good skill base to accommodate most DIY type duties, you will be required to care for all property maintenance indoor and out which will include local tenanted properties. A gardener is employed but some assistance will be required. House sitting and security during the owner’s absence is also part of the role and hence holidays must be taken outside the family’s holidays.

HOUSEKEEPER – GROUNDS & MAINTENANCE PERSON-SECURITY

Proactive, country loving domestic couple is required for a recently refurbished, 500-acre country estate in Kent. The 7-bedroom, grade 11 listed property is the permanent home of a down to earth couple and their very friendly dog and 2 cats.
The Housekeeper will primarily be responsible for the day to day cleaning and deep cleans of the 7-bedroom, 6-bathroom home, laundry, preparing the home for guests, running errands and pet care. Ideally the housekeeper will be able to prepare ingredients, cook occasionally and eventually serve at informal dinner parties.
Partner will be responsible for the day to day grounds maintenance of the property, which will include gardening, mowing, hedge trimming, greenhouse, and vegetable garden. Other duties will include general property maintenance, overseeing contractors, swimming pool, spa and hot tub maintenance, car cleaning and care of the vehicles, ad hoc driving duties and generally assisting the housekeeper and two additional estate workers when required. You will also be responsible for the security of the estate.
This is a long-term role, suitable for a very hand on, self-motivated couple who are used to working together in domestic service – you must be confident in your ability to provide high standards of work without supervision.

HOUSEKEEPER- FAMILY COOK-HANDYPERSON-ASST GARDENER-SECURITY
Large country estate in rural Hampshire, set in parkland, woodland and arable land with 11 acres of mature gardens and 1.5 acre walled garden.
This is the permanent residence of a family of 5, ( in normal times 2 eldest adult children come and go) and one teenager who is at boarding school and 2 dogs.
The housekeeper will be required to work closely with the lady of the house, you should be able to take initiative, be well motivated but at the same time open to suggestions. A traditional role for a housekeeper with an eye for detail is essential. You will need previous experience in the care of silver and antiques, working alongside a cleaner, but at the same time be very hands on with laundry, washing and ironing, caring for fine fabrics, happy to handwash fine china and glass, know how to lay a table for a formal dinner party, arrange flowers and be capable to deal with tradespeople and suppliers, ordering provisions and taking responsibility for the running of the household especially when the principals are away.
Ideally you will be confident in the kitchen, mainly to prepare light lunches or snacks occasionally, but willing to freeze vegetables and fruits from the garden, assist with jam making and generally assist madam with batch food preparation, but not every day cooking.
Partner will work alongside the outdoor gardening team, assisting with grounds maintenance, woodland maintenance, and general DIY tasks. Ideally you will be able to use a chain saw, chopping wood for the fires, and dealing with heavier indoor duties as needed. Laying fires, cleaning windows, driving airport and school runs, caring for the cars, assisting indoors during shooting weekends and generally a helping hand. Beautiful family estate of approx. 40 acres, in a suburban setting close to the sea and with easy access to Amsterdam. This property is the family estate, of owners, with multiple homes and who currently only visit the property alternate weekends. They are an informal couple and like their privacy when visiting the property. The principal’s adult children and their families occasionally visit using the guest cottage some weekends and holidays. The property is newly refurbished and has full security systems and cameras in place.
The housekeeper will take care of the interior of the main house and a small guest house, cleaning, dealing with laundry and generally overseeing the day-to-day housekeeping duties. You will need to have previous experience of antiques, fine fabrics, and precious items. When the owners are in residence, some light cooking will be required ideally Mediterranean and Asian in style. You will need to be able to run errands, shop for fresh produce and work alongside the lady of the house to ensure that any guests are well catered for.
Partner will spend approx. 70% in the gardens and 30% in the house, assisting with care of the gardens alongside the full-time head gardener and part time assistant. You do not need to be a qualified gardener, but you must enjoy working outside in all weathers. There are formal and informal areas of woodland and gardens comprising of flower beds, lawns, topiary and rose gardens and vegetables are also grown on the estate. In house you will assist the housekeeper with any high-level cleaning, undertake any basic repairs and monitor the coming and going of any contractors.
There are numerous external contractors who take care of the swimming pool and tennis court, so you will need to have good communication skills and be able to liaise with them.
Security is extremely important, there are full security cameras, and you will need to be very security aware.

HANDS ON ESTATE MANAGER & HOUSEKEEPER
Position in a rural village South of Stowmarket. The estate is newly refurbished and requires an experienced domestic couple to maintain and manage the house and grounds to a very high standard. The owners are a mature couple – semi retired with no children. Most of the time only the principals will be in residence, but occasional guests will stay (on average once per month).
The main house is a Grade 2 listed -8-bedroom former rectory, with 2 guest cottages on site, an outdoor pool and tennis court in approx. 50 acres of paddocks, lawns, and formal gardens.
Whilst duties are separate the couple must work well together and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar roles.
The housekeeper will be responsible for the day-to-day housekeeping of the main house with servicing of the cottages when required. You will need to supervise ad-hoc cleaners as needed. Your duties will include cleaning, bed changing, laundry, ironing, shoe cleaning, arrange dry cleaning, take deliveries, messages and oversee internal tradesmen. You should enjoy displaying cut flowers, working with the gardener to ensure good use of available flowers. You will need to arrange pantry and household supplies (principally online). Cooking is not essential to the role, but some prep/assistance may be required occasionally. Caterers will be available for any entertaining, but you will need to oversee this and assist with dinner parties and other events.
The Estate Manager will be responsible for the overall security and day to day running of the estate. You should have a practical background with good hands-on maintenance skills and be capable of property maintenance and hard landscaping. You will be required to clean and look after the cars and garden machinery, undertaking and arranging servicing, repairs etc. You will arrange external services i.e., window, pool, tennis court cleaning, maintain a stock of logs, lay fires, and fill log baskets, monitor oil and re-order, and manage domestic finances, place orders, and pay bills. You will manage and work with all staff on the estate (housekeeping and gardening) and any external contractors. Gardening experience will therefore be necessary. Experience of overseeing building projects would be an advantage. There will be some occasional driving duties for the principals to and from airport- station pickups, restaurants etc.
SALARY IN THE REGION OF £60-65,000 GROSS PER ANNUM DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE.
