Proactive, country loving domestic couple is required for a recently refurbished, 500-acre country estate in Kent. The 7-bedroom, grade 11 listed property is the permanent home of a down to earth couple and their very friendly dog and 2 cats.
The Housekeeper will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and deep cleans of the 7-bedroom, 6-bathroom home, laundry, preparing the home for guests, running errands and pet care. Ideally the housekeeper will be able to prepare ingredients, cook occasionally and eventually serve at informal dinner parties.
Partner will be responsible for the day-to-day grounds’ maintenance of the property, which will include gardening, mowing, hedge trimming, greenhouse and vegetable garden. Other duties will include general property maintenance, overseeing contractors, swimming pool, spa and hot tub maintenance, car cleaning and care of the vehicles, ad hoc driving duties and generally assisting the housekeeper and two additional estate workers when required. You will also be responsible for the security of the estate.
This is a long-term role, suitable for a very hands-on, self-motivated couple who are used to working together in domestic service – you must be confident in your ability to provide high standards of work without supervision.
Accommodation and Salary
A beautiful, large 3-bedroom Oast house within the Estate, next to the main house. This can either be furnished or unfurnished. All bills included. Monday to Friday 8-4pm with weekends off, some flexibility will be required for driving duties. Salary circa £50-55,000 Gross per annum (Negotiable)

Family of four which includes 2 teenage children at boarding school/University, currently using this property as a permanent residence, in the long term it will revert back to being their weekend home.
The position requires a flexible couple who can demonstrate self sufficiency and autonomy.
The house has eight bedrooms and six bathrooms, and is completely refurbished and easy to keep immaculate. The housekeeper should have an eye for detail, be able to provision and manage the household and undertake the day to day housekeeping duties.
Between you, you will also manage external contractors, deal with suppliers, deal with household expenses and ideally have basic computer skills.
You may be asked to assist the principal with food preparation and possibly some light cooking, but this is not essential. Any entertaining will be for family and friends and on a casual basis.
Partner to care for swimming pool and be able to tend the terraces, patio and undertake any maintenance duties around the property. You will need to lay and tend fires, manage the heating system and deal with any indoor maintenance as required.
There are large areas of lawns and at least 2 days per week will be spent cutting grass in the summer and 2 days dealing with leaves etc during winter months. Previous experience of using a chain saw and large pieces of garden equipment is essential. Contract gardeners are also employed, but any gardening knowledge and expertise highly appreciated.
Security of the property will therefore be part of the role. Ideally the couple should have their own hobbies and interests as this vacancy does not always allow for 2 people to keep busy for the whole week.

Essential Requirements: Previous Private Estate /House Experience Required. Drivers Licence. Team Players. Long term, sound experience as an Estate Manager is essential.
Lovely position in a rural village South of Stowmarket. This beautiful estate is newly refurbished and requires an experienced domestic couple to maintain and manage the house and grounds to a very high standard. The owners are a mature couple – semi retired with no children. Most of the time only the principals will be in residence, but occasional guests will stay (on average once per month).
The main house is a Grade 2 listed -8-bedroom former rectory, with 2 guest cottages on site, an outdoor pool and tennis court in approx. 50 acres of paddocks, lawns, and formal gardens.
Whilst duties are separate the couple must work well together and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar roles.
The Estate Manager will be responsible for the overall security and day to day running of the estate. You should have a practical background with good hands-on maintenance skills and be capable of property maintenance and hard landscaping. Ideally with previous qualifications of a trade or with gardening knowledge and experience.
You will be required to clean and look after the cars and garden machinery, undertaking and arranging servicing, repairs etc. You will be responsible to arrange external services i.e., window, pool, tennis court cleaning, maintain a stock of logs, lay fires, and fill log baskets, monitor oil and re-order, and manage domestic finances, place orders, and pay bills. You will manage a team of 5 staff and work closely with them. Experience of overseeing building projects would be an advantage. There will be some occasional driving duties for the principals to and from airport- station pickups, restaurants etc.
The housekeeper will be responsible for the day-to-day housekeeping of the main house with servicing of the cottages when required. You will need to supervise ad-hoc cleaners as needed. Your duties will include cleaning, bed changing, laundry, ironing, shoe cleaning, arrange dry cleaning, take deliveries, messages and oversee internal tradesmen. You should enjoy displaying cut flowers, working with the gardener to ensure good use of available flowers. You will need to arrange pantry and household supplies (principally online). Cooking is not essential to the role, but some prep/assistance may be required occasionally. Caterers will be available for any entertaining, but you will need to oversee this and assist with dinner parties and other events.
SALARY IN THE REGION OF £75 -80,000 GROSS PER ANNUM DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE.
