HEAD OF INTERIOR - BUTLER / CHIEF STEWARD – 71M NEW BUILD YACHT
Essential Skills: Previous private yacht experience, expert butler and valeting skills, team management skills, organised, flexible.
START DATE: JAN 2021
A permanent position on board a 71 metre privately owned yacht for a Butler/ Head of Interior. The yacht is currently in build and will be launched in early 2022.
Cruising is currently planned for the Mediterranean during 2022 and the Caribbean during 2022/2023. Thereafter, cruising schedules are to be arranged. The yacht will be able to accommodate 12 guests, including the Owners and their family.
The Owner has an exceptional global reputation and expects a very high standard of service at all times. The-best-of-the best. He is seeking a long-term professional relationship and is known to expect complete dedication and commitment.
We therefore seek an experienced person with expert skills in all butler and valeting duties. Formal butler training and a strong grasp of Mediterranean languages are preferred. The candidate will be knowledgeable in etiquette and protocol and have experience in the delivery of a discreet, confidential and unobtrusive service.
The yacht will house a collection of fine art, antiques and objects d’art and it is therefore imperative that the successful candidate be fully conversant in the care of these artefacts, fine silver, crystal, china, cigars and wine.
Our Captain is highly thought of in the yachting industry and will be bringing with him to the vessel an established team with which he has worked successfully for up to 15 years. The successful candidate will need to integrate seamlessly with the team on board.
As the head of Interior the candidate will have exceptional organisational and team management skills while also being able to assist the Captain and Chief Officer with some Purser related duties which will include cash and credit card accounts, crew administration and logistics, the maintenance of budgets, inventories, stock control records and provisioning.
The successful candidate will be a cooperative team player, somebody who is able to train junior staff and who takes pleasure in teaching by example with professionalism so that crew members with lesser skills can, with the correct assistance and encouragement, come to the forefront and shine. A team orientated mind set, cooperative nature and a positive ‘can do’ attitude are a must.
Compliance with a team structure and the Captain’s command, together with an ability to cooperate and complement the Head Chef and other department heads is fundamental, as is an ability to work harmoniously alongside all other crew members.
Negotiable salary package depending on experience and background of the successful applicant. (HU3779)
