RESIDENTIAL SENIOR HOUSEKEEPER
KENSINGTON W8
Essential Requirements: Previous experience working in a family home. Child and pet friendly. Ability to assist with house management duties and the supervision of cleaning staff. Team player.

A returning client, who is a dream to work for is looking for an experienced and capable senior housekeeper who has a proactive approach, hands on and can lead by example.
The family employ two cleaners. One full time and another part time. Nannies and a driver are also part of the team.

This is predominately a 5 day working week. (Saturday to be included. Sunday off and a day in the week of your choice), however there will be times when you will be required to work a 6 day week. The core hours will be from 8am to 6pm – however, flexibility will be needed and time off will be given in lieu when the father is away on business which is most of the year.

You will be working in a property that has 6 floors, (there is a lift). The house consists of 6 bedrooms with ensuites and there is a pool and gym.

Your responsibilities will include all areas of housekeeping.

  • Overseeing the cleaners work and delegating duties.
  • Dealing with contractors, suppliers, repairs etc.
  • Hands on housekeeping tasks when required.
  • Looking after fine furnishings
  • Making and changing beds
  • Washing and ironing/steaming of all bedding and clothes. (Must be experienced washing delicates and knowing which items should go to the dry cleaners)
  • Wardrobe management
  • Keeping the kitchen clean and keeping cupboards and fridge in order.
  • Running errands and shopping for food and supplies.
  • Packing and unpacking suitcases (family travel numerous times throughout the year)
  • Simple cooking for 1 child.

There are two children, the rota nannies attend to the baby. You will be required to prepare simple healthy meals for the eldest who is 5 years old. The parents are happy if you want to batch cook.

This is a role for someone who is comfortable working in an informal household with additional staff. It is essential that you have worked in a similar role, have an eye for detail and take pride in your work. Being highly organised with strong communication skills is key for this position.

Additional members of the family are a cat and dog who are loved by the family.

Salary £45,000 to 55,000 gross per year. You will be provided with your own bedroom and bathroom, which is very private and has a separate basement entrance. 2 days off per week. (HU4063)
