An experienced housekeeper/cook is required to look after this part residence semi formal home in Central London. The property is small but over four stories.
The housekeeper is required to be very experienced and hands on with very high standards of cleaning, ironing and good laundry skills. You will need to be able to care for fine clothes (both ladies and gentleman’s) and be able to maintain wardrobe’s including packing and unpacking suitcases.
You will be required to care for Antiques, polish silver and brass and ensure the house is kept immaculate.
When the employers are in residence you will be required to prepare breakfast, light lunch and dinner. The employers do occasionally have a dinner party but never for more than 6 people. You will need to be a confident cook, who can follow recipes and prepare fresh, healthy meals for the owners.
The principles spend at least 6 months of the year at their home abroad so you will be required to look after the house when they are away.
An animal lover is essential as family have 4 dogs and a parrot, however the dogs travel with the employers, but the parrot requires the housekeeper to care for it.
You will need to be very flexible regarding time off as when the family is in residence you will be required to be flexible on working days and hours with time off being taken when the family are away.
There is a large suite comprising double bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, downstairs of the main property with its own entrance available. Sky TV and internet connections installed. Basic computer skills are ideal to enable communication with the employers when they are overseas.

An experienced gardener is essential to this role, 8 acres of beautifully landscaped mature gardens and grounds with sloping gardens, lawns, informal and formal flower beds, woodland and pasture.
The maintenance of the grounds and gardens, lake, stream and general maintenance of the driveway, paths, outbuildings are all part of the role.
You will need to have experience with the maintenance and operating of garden machinery, which includes a tractor, ride on mower, hedge trimmers, chain saw and leaf blowers. Strong DIY skills are required to maintain and manage this property.
The housekeeper will manage the cleaning, laundry, ironing, bed changing, errands and shopping mainly when the family are in residence. Essential that you are child friendly and be willing to drive the children to local activities when required and babysit occasionally.
Ideally one of the couple will cook and be able to prepare simple fresh family meals when they are in residence.

Feeding and care of peacocks and ducks
Security and alarm monitoring.
Driving when the family are in residence ie Airport runs, children’s activities, errands and shopping.

The family are looking to relocate in the very near future closer to the children’s’ day school in rural Gloucestershire.
The family of five includes 3 children between ages 9 and 5yrs and they have 3 small dogs. The family also own 4 ponies that are at a livery yard locally and they ride every weekend. They have a love of the outdoors -walking, riding, tennis, wakeboarding, skiing and are always out and about. Both parents are completely hands-on with the children, but you will occasionally be asked to babysit or supervise in mums’ absence, so essential that you love being around and are confident with school age children.
School runs, caring for the dogs, booking grooming, vet appointments etc. are all part of this very flexible role. This is a position which requires a responsible, well organised, pro-active person to work alongside the lady of the house, who is a busy professional working mother.
Other duties will include day to day house management, ensuring smooth daily running of the household, organising contractors, booking services when needed, ordering oil & logs, keeping on top of food shopping, freezers and larder contents.
A good home cook is required, you will have shared duty of breakfast, lunch and dinners as the family also love to cook. You will generally cook for between 2 and 4 adults and 3 children, but with occasional lunch or supper parties and Sunday lunches when required. They also get in support when needed and have a local chef they work with.
The employers enjoy fresh and locally sourced produce. You need to have a natural flair and love for cooking, enjoy trying new recipes and have a genuine passion for it but you do not need to be a qualified chef.
The garden has a lovely vegetable patch so if you enjoy gardening then a big plus. You will need to provision and use local suppliers, there is a superb butcher and fishmonger locally and farm produce available for fresh ingredients.
This is an informal home and the family are neat and tidy people and very hands-on. The usual day to day housekeeping – cleaning, laundry, and shopping etc. all managed easily for a well-organized person, but additional daily help will be available.
The family will be moving house within I hr drive from current location – closer to the children’s school in Stroud.
Currently there is a small furnished 2-bedroom (1 double/1single) cottage available. The daily working hours are 8.00am to 6.00pm with one hour off for lunch. 2 days off per week.
