GOVERNESS Victoria Island, Lagos – Nigeria. £1500 – 2000 per week

We have a new client who is looking for an educated and exceptional Governess. You will be looking after and focusing on the education of one little boy who is coming up to 6 years old. Your role will be to support the little boy’s education, teach manners, good behaviour and social skills. Along with being a friend and good role model. He is a fun-loving boy who enjoys horse riding and is very sporty. He is currently learning to play the piano and chess which he is enjoying immensely. He is a very bright boy, so he needs someone engaging and full of positive energy and enthusiasm. You will be responsible for his development, after school activities, looking after his safety and general wellbeing, liaising with the chef to ensure his dietary needs are met with healthy and balanced meals and teaching good manners and etiquette.

This is a staffed household with two junior nannies who are there to assist you should you require. Additional housekeepers, chefs and drivers are employed – therefore you must have excellent communication skills and respect for others.

You will be required to work a 6 day week 12 hours a day. However, this is a role where flexibility is required as both parents work, and you will have to proxy parent from time to time. There is down time during the day when the child is at school. From 7.30am through to 2.30pm and on occasions 4.30pm.

It is essential that you are educated to at least Degree level and if you have a Master’s or Qualified Teacher Status, this would be advantageous. You must be knowledgeable and experienced in either the British or American Curriculum. Have a minimum of 6 years professional experience working in a similar role. Teaching experience is key.

English must be your first language and the family are looking for someone well spoken, articulate and is grammatically correct when speaking. You must also take pride in your appearance and have excellent manners which you will pass on to the little boy.

The family’s main residence is in Lagos. However, there are additional homes in London and the US. You will also be required to travel to various international destinations.

You will be provided with your own bedroom and bathroom which is beautifully decorated with all mod cons. On your days off you are welcome to stay in a separate flat should you wish to.

ASAP start. Salary £1000 – 2000 per week dependent on your educational background, skills and experience. £52,000 to £104,000 per annum
