Our client requires an experienced and professional chef with expertise in vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free cooking. Cooking will be for a family of four, including 2 children (12 & 13) who are at boarding school and come home on Sundays and every other weekend. Candidates will be required to plan menus according to the Employer’s needs and dietary restrictions. Menus should be organic, always home-made, and fresh with nothing pre-prepared, as well as creative and innovative. You will be required to maintain a high level of presentation, including proper formal and informal place settings and service. Additional duties will include managing stock and organising the kitchen, shopping for and ordering food and kitchen supplies, maintaining the kitchen including all equipment, appliances, supplies, the bar, banquette seating areas, the wine room and the butler’s pantry to a superior level of cleanliness and hygiene. You will also be required to plan and prepare food for parties, holiday meals, luncheons, special functions, and events for up to 16 guests. Candidates must be excellent communicators, willing to work as part of team, and flexible while ensuring a safe working environment. 5-day working week with Sundays and Mondays off. Hours are 10am to approximately 9pm. The family have four dogs so you must be pet friendly. Travel required during Christmas (USA) and the summer (Italy). Driver essential. (car available for work). Single all-found accommodation, separate modern lodge house. Previous private house is essential as well as longevity in previous roles, minimum of 3 years. Salary negotiable based on experience.
