Accommodation: A beautiful, all new, fully furnished 2-bedroom gate house with own garden.

Essential Requirements: Proactive couple who work well together with previous experience working in a private household. Both must drive. Occasional Good family cooking. Tractor, heavy garden machinery and chainsaw licence with experience is required. Duties are interchangeable.

Proactive, country loving domestic couple is required for a recently refurbished, 50-acre country estate in a beautiful village location 30 mins drive from Cork and 15 mins drive to a major town with full facilities. The 4-bedroom, 6 bathroom newly refurbished property is the part residence home of international principals with adult children and grandchildren who visit during summer months. The owners are in residence no more than 6 months of the year.

Housekeeper

The Housekeeper will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and general upkeep of the main residence and a separate guest house, laundry, preparing the home for the principals arriving and their guests, running errands, provisioning and ensuring the house is aired, heating and lighting etc are regularly monitored during closed periods.

Ideally the housekeeper will have the ability to cook fresh home style dishes when required and have a love of gardening. There is a walled garden where vegetables are grown, and the fresh produce is available for your use.

Grounds/Maintenance

Partner will be responsible for the day-to-day grounds’/land maintenance. Half of the acreage is rented out to a local farmer, the remaining comprises Woodland with pathways and a stream, large areas of lawns, garden area with herbaceous borders and 2 lakes. There is also a tennis court and various outbuildings.

Duties will include gardening, mowing, hedge trimming, clearing gutters and drains, general property maintenance, fence repairs, wood chopping, overseeing contractors and generally ensuring the property is secure. All the duties are outdoor and mostly manual, physical fitness and an all-weather person is essential.

This is a long-term role, suitable for a hands on, self-motivated couple who are used to working together in domestic service. The current caretaker has worked on the property for 40 yrs and will shortly retire but lives locally and will remain available for support. The current daily housekeeper will be available for part-time hours as required.

Accommodation and Salary

Joint salary in the region of £55-60,000 Gross. 2 days off weekly, daily hours may be longer when the principals are in residence, but less when absent.
