Essential Requirements: Great attention to detail, flexible, pro-active with totally hands on approach. Fluent English, good communication skills. Previous experience working within the private household industry. 

Our clients are seeking an experienced and reliable domestic couple to take full responsibility for the day to day running, care and maintenance of a beautiful Grade 11 listed manor house, its outhouses and surrounding gardens used by the family mainly at weekends and some holidays.

 This is a hands-on role suited to a practical, self-sufficient couple who take pride in maintaining a home to a high standard and working with discretion and initiative. The position would suit an energetic couple who enjoy countryside living.

Duties and Responsibilities

Household & Property Care

·       Full housekeeping duties including cleaning, Laundry, ironing and household organisation

·       Ongoing care and upkeep of the interior of the property

·       Monitoring household systems and liaising with contractors when required

·       Carrying out routine property maintenance and minor repairs

·       Receiving deliveries and overseeing property security

·       Basic, light family cooking when required

·       Both should hold a valid driving licence 

Gardens & Grounds

·       Maintenance of gardens and grounds, including general gardening tasks

·       Ensuring outdoor areas are kept tidy and well-maintained year round

·       Care of the Swimming pool

·       Vegetable garden Maintenance

·       Grass cutting 

General

·       Flexibility to adapt to the family’s routines and occasional changes to schedule

·       Working five days of the week. Longer days when in residence, shorter when not.

·       Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they arise

·       The principals are mainly in residence at weekends, but not every weekend, sometimes just the 2 of them, but small family gatherings during holiday periods. 

SALARY NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE. INITIAL ONE YEAR CONTRACT

3 BEDROOM COTTAGE PROVIDED (Furnished or unfurnished). 2 DAYS OFF PER WEEK USUALLY MID WEEK, BUT ABLE TO TAKE A WEEKEND IF THE PRINCIPALS ARE NOT IN RESIDENCE. BOTH MUST DRIVE WITH OWN CAR FOR PERSONAL USE. ONE WELL BEHAVED PET MAY BE CONSIDERED.
