Essential Requirements: Previous private Chef experience, experience with Mediterranean cuisine, particularly Italian and/or Spanish, current STCW and ENG1 certificates, experience with dietary restrictions and allergies, flexibility to travel.  

An experienced Chef is required for a private family to work in rotation (approximately 15/15 days) with the head chef at the property in Europe and onboard a 40+m motor yacht based and cruising in the Mediterranean.  

Organisation and excellent preparation skills are extremely important, as is flexibility. Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for healthy cuisine and proficiency in preparing meals following a specific diet is essential. 

Duties will include but not be limited to:  

·       Sourcing of all ingredients for meals, often without using an all-round supplier.

·       Proven experience preparing Mediterranean cuisine, particularly Italian and/or Spanish

·       Preparation of menu’s to be discussed and approved by the principal or the permanent chef.

·       Daily preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner for 2-8 guests.

·       Daily preparation of lunch and dinner for 9 crew or household staff in residences

·       Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and galley on a daily basis.

·       Accounting on spreadsheets which will be provided to the captain at the end of every working period.

·       Valid and up-to-date yacht certificates (including STCW and ENG1).

·       Schengen eligibility and the flexibility to travel as required. 

Previous experience working onboard yachts is essential and knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergies. You will need to be flexible, have attention to detail and be highly organised. Current STCW, ENG1 and onboard food hygiene certificate is required and flexibility to travel. You will be based at the property in Europe in August and onboard the yacht for September and October. Salary €6500 per month depending on experience, MLC yacht contract and insurance provided. (HU4435)
