ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 5 years’ experience, running an important Mansion, ideally in Paris, or with previous experience of living and working in Paris. Strong staff management experience, highly computer and system facilities oriented, with ability to oversee the latest and most high-tech electronic, internet, Lutron and technical systems within the residence. (Facilities Manager is to be employed, however the successful applicant will have experience and interest with same.) Flexibility to travel, excellent communication and organisational skills, Fluent French and English, Extensive experience working in Central Paris.
This is a newly created position working alongside the Household/Hospitality Manager for a highly detailed, meticulous and charming Principal. This is a 7-storey building of historic note, hugely important and has been superbly refurbished to the highest standards.
An experienced and highly motivated Estate Manager is required to oversee and manager a large Estate based in Paris and additional properties coming online in South of France. (Current 5-year major refurbishment in process.) The Estate Manager will work directly with the principal, family members and business associates and will report to the General Manager. In this role the Estate Manager will be responsible for the complete oversight of the Estate, including management of house staff, building, fixtures, and will act, alongside the Household Manager as the primary liaison between the Estate and the Family office.
Responsibilities will include:
· Day to day management of the residences on the properties, maintaining consistency of standards, procedures and systems
· Collaborate with the Facilities Department
o Manage and supervise staff
o Develop and maintain a house manual, maintain all records including inventories, checklists, cleaning instructions, etc
o Set the service standards to the principal’s expectations and train staff accordingly
o Conduct regular walkthroughs and daily checklists
o Recruit and train all onsite staff
o Manage vacations and special requests, standing in for the Household Manager when on leave.
· Contact, screen, propose and oversee vendors
· Negotiate and manage contracts, supervise work and review invoices
· Act as the point of contact for vendors, contractors, Family Office and Estate staff
· Manage maintenance and repair of property, fixtures etc.
· Schedule routine service, repair and maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
· Supervise construction and renovation projects, from design to coordination of schedules, inspections during construction phases, monitor permits and daily oversight of subcontractors
· Monitor and maintain punch list in conjunction with the Facilities Department
· Ensure all AV equipment is in working order
· Hands-on duties as needed, general errand running, 100% dedication to employer when in residence.
· Provide 24/7 on-call availability for the principal and for the any urgent requests from the Family Office; respond to emergencies during non-business hours
· Organise, pack, ship and receive deliveries for the household
· Meet and greet guests and provide 5-star service during visit
· Manage records
Candidates must have at least 5+ years of experience working as an Estate Manager in an important residence. We require candidates who offer a highly motivated and positive approach, high energy with flexibility as well as strong managerial experience. Candidates must be comfortable working under the direction from the family office.
This position will require a candidate who is adaptable, works well under pressure to meet deadlines, must possess a high level of discretion and have the ability to interact and collaborate effectively with other staff, contractors, vendors, etc.
Candidates must have excellent technical skills and be confident working with “smart home” technology. Additionally, candidates must be punctual, reliable, organised with high attention to detail and strong communication skills. Must be flexible to travel both domestically and internationally.
