We are seeking a highly skilled and discreet Household Manager to oversee the daily operations of a private residence and ensure the highest standards of service and care. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to anticipate the principal’s needs while managing staff, property operations, and guest services with professionalism and discretion.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the residence, supervising and supporting household staff, and providing hands-on assistance when required. You will deliver tailored service standards that meet the principal’s expectations, liaise effectively with all members of staff and external contractors, oversee scheduled maintenance, and provide concierge-level service for guests.
Key Responsibilities
Property & Technology Oversight
· Operate and monitor smart home systems, including security, lighting, HVAC, and window treatments
· Ensure proper functioning of televisions, media systems, and climate controls
· Report and follow up on any security or maintenance issues
· Maintain furnishings, antiques, art, and collectibles to the highest standards
· Ensure the residence is always guest-ready
Cleaning & Housekeeping Supervision
· Develop and manage cleaning schedules for housekeeping staff
· Inspect and maintain housekeeping standards across the residence
· Oversee the presentation of all rooms, ensuring specialist care for upholstery, artwork, and fabrics
· Manage bedroom and bathroom upkeep, including deep cleaning and stocking of toiletries and amenities
· Supervise laundry for family, staff, and guests, ensuring quality ironing, storage, and attention to individual needs
· Conduct room checks before and during guest stays to uphold quality
Specialised Upkeep
· Oversee staff quarters, kitchens, laundry, spa facilities, gym, and pools
· Maintain kitchen equipment, china, linens, and tableware at the highest standard
· Ensure cleanliness and functionality of all household and staff areas
Financial & Administrative Management
· Prepare and monitor household budgets, invoices, and inventories
· Manage expense reporting, including credit card statements and petty cash
· Provide monthly financial reports and reconciliations, especially following property visits
· Maintain accurate household manuals and records
Additional Duties
· Coordinate supplies, grocery purchasing, and household stock levels
· Assist with packing and unpacking for the principals
· Adapt to evolving requirements and respond to special requests

It is essential that you are proactive and forward-thinking, with a self-starting attitude and you must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Flexible, energetic, and dynamic, you will bring strong leadership and motivational skills, excellent multitasking ability, and a calm, professional demeanour under pressure. Familiarity with smart home systems (Lutron, BMS, HVAC, security) and proficiency in MS Office are required. Meticulous attention to detail and an appreciation that “the little things are the big things” will be essential for success. Full time position, live in or live out, one-bedroom, self-contained ground floor flat provided. If live out candidates must remain on sight during visits. Immediate start.
