Experienced forward-thinking, well-presented person capable to manage the household on a daily basis. Clean driving licence, Fluent English and longevity in previous domestic roles. Caretaker of the property during the owner’s absence. Strictly non smoker essential.
An experienced, proactive and self-sufficient chef/cook/House Manager, required to manage and care for a well-maintained immaculate 7-bedroom country house, in 4 acres of gardens in a village location. The principals are a mature couple with adult family members who visit occasionally. Although this is the principal’s main residence they travel frequently and spend 5-6 months over the year abroad.
Full time gardening contractors and daily housekeeper are also employed.
Duties will be menu planning, preparing fresh healthy meals and undertaking occasional small dinner parties. The principals enjoy a wide taste in food and like to try new dishes, ranging from English, French, Italian, and Asian. You will be responsible for total care of the kitchen, household shopping, accounts and the daily running of the residence.
Ideally you will have experience in daily household management, be able to arrange flowers, lay the table correctly and serve at table. You will manage contractors and external providers, change light bulbs, notice when repairs /paintwork needs to be corrected and generally ensure the household runs smoothly on a daily basis.
This is a semi formal household and ideally you will have previous experience in a similar residence. A full-time daily housekeeper/cleaner is employed, but you will on occasion mainly when the principals are away, need to assist with making beds, cleaning silver and tidying.
The principals spend approx. 6 weeks abroad each year where they do-not take their lovely dog, so you will be required on occasion to care for the dog during some of their absence.
Salary circa £55-60,000 Gross - 2 days off per week-Wednesday and Sundays when the principals are in residence with one full weekend off per month. Working hours when in residence 8am to 1.30pm and returning for dinner 6pm to 8.30pm. When the principals are travelling hours and days off are flexible.
Separate fully furnished 2-bedroom cottage with own garden available. Driver with clean licence essential, a car is provided for work. One pet considered. Strictly Non-Smokers only. OCTOBER START. (HU4282B)
