Essential Requirements: Previous private house experience, driver, strong attention to detail, pet friendly. 

A great opportunity for an experienced Head Butler for a private family based in West Ireland. This is a fully staffed property. This role will require you to provide one-to-one butler service to the principals, which will require strong communication skills with both staff and the principals. Full food and beverage service for the family and guests including breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will be responsible for maintaining and caring for crockery, glassware and cutlery, liaising with the chef regarding daily menus, providing turn down service, maintaining the cleanliness of the family vehicles, replenishing firewood, ensuring the bar is fully stocked, oversee cleaning staff to ensure all residential areas are kept clean, wardrobe care including polishing shoes and boots. Additionally, it is essential that you maintain appropriate records, order supplies, maintain inventory.


Additional duties will include: 

·       Feeding and looking after the house dogs.

·       Silver cutlery polishing. 

·       Wind up and maintain the accuracy of the antique clocks. 

·       Check and update the apple devices of the family members.  

·       Checking the cleanliness and maintenance of the “Old House”

·       Driving family members if needed.

·       Liaising with the gardeners regarding upcoming events, to ensure the garden is spotless.  

·       Arranging additional staff for larger dinner functions / parties.  

·       Keeping the golf room tidy, cleaning golf clubs and shoes when required 

Seasonal duties: 

·       Cleaning and polishing the trophy gallery twice a year (in January and during the autumn).  

·       Cleaning the crockery and China storerooms.  

·       Polishing the banquet silver ware.  

Full-time position, with a lovely 3-bedroom cottage. Candidates must have previous private house experience, be confident with all butler duties in both formal and informal settings, have excellent communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to lead by example. Proactive, flexible with the ability to multi-task and prioritise duties is essential. Salary negotiable depending on experience. December start. (HU4348)
