Essential Requirements: One must speak fluent French, ideally both should drive with own car for personal use. Previous experience working in a similar role. Motivated, self-sufficient, discreet and responsible persons. Dog and cat lovers essential. 

Large part residence property in approx. 1.5 hectares located in the French wine-producing region of Languedoc. The property is occupied between 4-6 months annually mainly by the principal with occasional visits from family and friends. 

The housekeeper will be responsible for the day-to-day general housekeeping alongside another long-term housekeeper – maintaining a clean interior and dealing with the laundry, washing and ironing and occasional shopping when the principal is in residence. There are 5 elderly cats which you will care for when required. 

Two thirds of the grounds are well-established gardens with large areas of lawns, hedges bushes and flower beds, a few fruit trees, small orchard, 20 olive trees which are cared for by specialists, mediterranean plants and trees. The remaining third is wild and a natural habitat. Depending on the season 2 part time additional gardeners attend, the caretaker however will care for the gardens daily.

Ideally you will have good general maintenance skills and be able to be proactive and deal with minor repairs. 

A property manager is also employed and is responsible to manage the day to day running of the property.

8 hr working day – five days of the week with flexibility when the principals are in residence.

Three-bedroom separate house (currently unfurnished) in the grounds of the property will be provided. A service vehicle will be provided for work related use only.

It is essential that the couple are well mannered and with good characters and have previous experience working in domestic service. 

Salary 5,000 Euros Net per month Child(ren) and well-behaved pet welcome. Excellent checkable references and Criminal Records checks are required. (HU4373).
